ZLS5_50.11 MULTIPROCESS

Multiprocess machining center for large workpieces: milling and turning in a single set-up

2 02 mom liv 26

In a high-capacity machining shopworking with large workpieces, the challenge is rarely whether you can do it, but whether you can do it with agility: reducing set-ups, avoiding waiting time between operations, and keeping the pace when the part requires milling and turning within the same sequence.

TheIBARMIA ZLS5_50.11 MULTIPROCESS answers that scenario with a configuration focused on complete machining. Its starting point is clear: capacity (X = 5,000 mm) and a ±115° tilting head that expands access to the workpiece to link operations without compromising productivity.

On this machine, the solution is designed for those who will run frequently in turning mode, integrating milling versatility with a configuration built for real shop-floor cycles.

The combination of an electrospindle with HSK A100 and a speed range of up to 12.000 rpm, together with 70 bar through-spindle coolant, supports very different machining strategies—from demanding metal removal to operations where surface quality and process control make the difference.

For everyday production, the ZLS5_50.11 MULTIPROCESS is completed with an operator environment designed for continuity: HEIDENHAIN TNC 7 with a 24” screen, a 132-position tool magazine, tool measurement and workpiece probing, and process-stability functions such as KinematicsOpt, Active Chatter Control and Adaptive Feed Control.

And because on large workpieces cleanliness and chip evacuation matter as much as cutting, the system includes 40-micron filtration, Ø150 mm screw conveyors, and the option to run dry machining when the process requires it.

Result: an IBARMIA configuration designed to help a high-capacity machining shopconsolidate operations, gain autonomy in daily production, and move towards more efficient multiprocess machining of large workpieces.
