IBARMIA obtains the BIKAIN certificate on the International Basque Language Day

December 3rd - Euskararen Nazioarteko Eguna / International Day of the Basque Language.
IBARMIA celebrates this date today with a special milestone: obtaining the BIKAIN certification, which certifies the use, presence and proper management of the Basque language in the company.
At IBARMIA, Basque is not only a language of communication: it is a way of understanding the company and relating to the environment. Born and rooted in the Basque Country, the company projects its activity to the world based on its local identity.
"IBARMIA-n, euskara ez da soilik hitz egiteko modua. Gure egiteko modua da"
("In IBARMIA, Basque is not just a way of speaking. It is our way of doing").
What is BIKAIN?
BIKAIN is an official certificate that recognizes the level of presence, use and management of Basque in public and private organizations. The evaluation analyzes, among other aspects
- The use of Basque in internal and external attention.
- The presence of the language in documentation, communication and corporate image.
- The integration of Basque in management and organizational culture.
Obtaining this certificate is an external endorsement of the work carried out over the years to give the Basque language its rightful place in IBARMIA's daily activity: in offices, in the workshop, in communication with customers and suppliers and in the relationship with the environment.
Industry and language, hand in hand
In a highly technological and global sector such as the machine tool industry, IBARMIA demonstrates that it is possible to compete in international markets while maintaining a strong local identity:
- Developing high added value solutions for customers all over the world.
- Promoting the Basque language as a working and relationship language within the company.
- Integrating the culture and values of the territory in its industrial project.
Tokian pentsatu, mundura zabaldu - Thinking locally, projecting to the world.
Industry and language go hand in hand in IBARMIA's daily work.
Looking to the future
BIKAIN certification is not a point of arrival, but a stimulus to continue advancing. IBARMIA will continue:
- Promoting the use of Basque in all areas of the organization.
- Offering training and resources to the team to work naturally in Basque.
- Integrating the language in new projects, digital tools and technical materials.
On International Basque Day, IBARMIA reaffirms its commitment to its roots and to a future in which industry, technology and language continue to grow together.
Gaur, euskararen egunean, gure sustraiei keinu bat.
Gaur ere, euskaraz.
