THE FACTORIA CONSORTIUM HAS SUCCESSFULLY PRESENTED THE PROGRESS MADE ON MILESTONE 1 TO THE CDTI

On 15 September, the follow-up and technical review meeting for Milestone 1 of the FactorIA project took place, bringing together representatives from the consortium and CDTI to assess the progress made during the first year of the project.
During the session, the main results achieved to date were presented, confirming that the objectives established for this first milestone have been met and that the different technical activities are progressing as planned. Key achievements include the definition of industrial use cases, the development of the digital thread for autonomous production, the identification of key performance indicators (KPIs), the definition of the data exchange architecture, and the launch of activities related to digital twins, artificial intelligence, DED additive manufacturing, advanced monitoring and Edge Computing.
Progress was also presented on the three use cases serving as project demonstrators, linked to the railway, automotive and naval sectors, together with the first experimental results obtained in manufacturing, repair and inspection processes.
The review confirmed that the project is progressing according to plan, with the technological foundations already established for the next phases. These will focus on developing systems capable of progressively increasing the autonomy of industrial processes through the integration of artificial intelligence, digital twins, advanced sensing and real-time decision-making technologies.
With these results, FactorIA continues to pursue its objective of researching and developing AI technologies to increase the autonomy of manufacturing and repair processes using DED technologies, contributing to a more efficient, safe, sustainable and competitive industry.
